AUC Communities

The AUC engages with a wide audience amongst the Higher-Education Sector and encourages everyone to participate in its programs.

Developers

Macintosh software and hardware developers are a key focus for the AUC and we offer a wide variety of programs for people interested in developing on the Macintosh platform.

Some of the programs available include:

WWDC Scholarships - Funding for Univeristy staff and students to attedn Apple Inc's premier developer conference, held every year in San Francisco, USA.

Innovation Grants - Equipment and funding to support projects and inniatives which have a wide benefit to the Higher-Education community and make significant use of key Apple technologies.

Developer Training - Training courses for beginners new the the Mac OS X platform as well as intermediate courses in key areas of Apple technology.

Digital Creatives

The Digital Creative community is all about exploring what is possible in the digital medium. The AUC is offering more programs catering for this community in the future and hopes to build a wider audience with people from diverse backgrounds all makiing substaial use of Apple technology.

Some of the programs we offer are:

CreateWorld - A 3 day conference held in early December for those who use Apple technology for creating digital art, music, videos, movies and much more.

Technicians

The AUC has always engaged with technical staff, system administrators and lab managers to make sure they are well skilled in getting the most of out their Apple investment. Making sure key staff are trained in new technologies and offering a wide range of professional development and networking opportunities is a key feature of AUC activities.

Key events and activities for technical staff include:

X World - The premier event in Australia for System Administrators and other technical staff using Apple technology. Held each year in early July at UTS in Sydney, the event had grown to cater for over 200 attendees with over 15 hand-on workshops, seminars and international keynotes.

Training Programs - The AUC offers subsidised training programs through Apple Training in Australia. Thes eincludes courses on Mac OS X Server Administration, Help Desk, Directory Administration, Podcasting & Streaming Media and much more.
