About the AUC Conference

The AUC will hold its next Conference at the Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast, Queensland from Sunday 23 - Wednesday 26 September 2007.

The Australian Apple University Consortium's mission is to serve member Universities and their staff and students in many ways, including sharing experience, insights and know-how, and inspiring and fostering innovative use of Apple technology in universities. Our major conference held every two years, is a key part of achieving that mission, which is one of sharing and collaboration.

Our theme for 2007 - "Contribute, Communicate, Collaborate" - reflects the rich opportunities presented by MacOS X in the emerging broadband environment.

Papers and presentations will be in three broad streams:

Academics and Students
How is MacOS X, and related technologies, being used in teaching and learning, or in broader university life? What's new? What's working? What's not? What about students as content creators as well as consumers? How does MacOS X fit in to the University online learning environment and the broader IT landscape?

Technical
What are the challenges in managing and supporting MacOS X in the university environment? What are your solutions? How are you dealing with the growing numbers of notebook computers, and the growing numbers of personally-owned computers in the university? Are you running multiple operating systems on your Macs, and how does that work out in day-to-day lab management?

Developers
Have you experience to share as a software developer for MacOS X? How might a new developer get started - and why? Have you a product to demonstrate? If you're an active software developer working with MacOS X, here is an opportunity to share your expertise and meet with others doing the same.
