Seeding Equipment

The AUC has established as part of its resources a small pool of Seeding Equipment for University staff to trial and use for testing and evaluation purposes. These items are for short term loan only (maximum of 3 weeks) and are not intended to be used for commercial purposes.

MacBook Air

The AUC is making available two MacBook Air's for member Univeristies to explore use and support of these units on campus. You can find more information about the MacBook Air at Apple's web site.

The MacBook Air box consists of:
  • 1 x MacBook Air (1.8GHz, 2GB RAM, 64GB SSD)
  • 1 x MagSafe Power Supply
  • 1 x USB SuperDrive
  • 1 x USB Ethernet Adapter
  • 1 x Micro-DVI to VGA Adapter
  • 1 x Micro-DVI to DVI Adapter
  • 1 x Mac OS X Install Disks and Manual

Eye-Fi Card

The AUC has purchased for seeding a number of Eye-Fi Cards which are wireless (802.11b) memory cards. It automatically uploads pictures from your digital camera to your PC or Mac and to your favorite photo sharing, printing, blogging or social networking site using your wireless network. iPod touch

 

The AUC is making available a number of new iPod touch units for member Univeristies to explore and develop web applications using the built-in Safari web browser and multi-media delivery features. You can find more information about the iPod touch at Apple's web site.

The iPod touch units have been updated with the September 2009 (3.1.1) firmware.

AppleTV

The AUC is making available a number of AppleTV units for member Univeristies to explore distribution of content to classrooms through TV's or projectors. You can find more information about the AppleTV at Apple's web site.

  • 1 x Apple Remote
  • 1 x Power Cable
  • 1 x AppleTV Manual
  • 1 x 1.0m HDMI Cable
  • 1 x 1.5m Component Cable
  • 1 x 1.5m Audio Cable

Airport Extreme (802.11b/g/n)

The AUC is making available a number of new Airport Extreme base stations which include the new 802.11n functionality as well as the new disk sharing feature. You can find more information about the new Airport Extreme at Apple's web site.

The Airport Extreme consists of:

  • 1 x Airport Extreme (802.11b/g/n) Base Station
  • 1 x Power Cable
  • 1 x CD containing Airport Utility and 802.11n enabler software

Usage & Loan Form

The AUC Seeding equipment is for use by AUC Member Universities for testing, evaluation and experimentation in the areas of teaching, learning and research only. These units are not to be used for commercial use at any time.

The borrowing University is responsible for any loss or damage to the equipment whilst in their care. The University is responsible for all transport costs associated with the equipment.

The Loan Agreement form must be signed by an officer of the University authorised to sign such agreements. AUC member Universities can request to borrow the above Seeding Equipment at any time the AUC is not using it. Please download, complete, sign and return by fax a copy of the loan agreement to (02) 4221 4614.
