The Apple University Consortium has announced they will be holding a 2 day conference for University staff and students who develop on the Apple platform. dev/world/2009 will be held at the National Convention Centre in Canberra on the 28th and 29th September 2009 and will feature a wide range of presenters from the Apple developer community as well as sessions covering a wide range of subjects including iPhone development, Snow Leopard, Xcode, Objective C, Core Animation and many others. /dev/world/2009 will also feature updates on Apple's development tools as well as ample opportunity to network with fellow developers at social events. These grants are designed to support proof-of-concept, or product- development projects, from staff and students with a strong preference in the case of proof-of-concept for "pilot" products that are of some use in their own right. Funding and resources will be allocated based on specific requirements. Applications are encouraged for projects designed to enhance the value of Apple products for the academic community, whether the product is software, hardware or an innovative "how-to" guide.
