Hello everyone,
I am wondering if anyone managed to get Acrobat to work in a networked
home directory environment? I'm testing on Mac OS 10.5.5 with smb home
directories. Acrobat Pro 9.0 runs fine for local users, but for
network users first it crashes, then subsequently hangs indefinitely
and has to be killed.
I tried, to no avail, various suggestions I came across, such as:
- Repair permissions as admin and root
- Stop self healing:
Make sure NoSelfHealNeeded is YES in ~/Library/Preferences/
com.adobe.acrobat.90.sh.plist
Replaced all instances of required “YES” with “NO” in /Library/
Application Support/Adobe/Acrobat/AcroEFGPro90SelfHeal.xml, then in
the Acrobat Pro bundle.
I also logged a bug with Adobe and opened a case two weeks ago, but I
had no reply.
Premiere 4.0.1 is another one that does not behave properly for
network accounts. It takes 12 minutes to open. Tried to redirect the
Adobe Application Support, Preferences and user data to the local
drive, but no luck with that either :-(
Any help would be much appreciated,
