This reminds me of the old Outbound Apple clone laptops. The outbound 
laptops didn't have a ROM in them as they were not supported by Apple. 
To have an Outbound that was any more useful than a boat anchor, you 
would need to sacrifice the ROM of a genuine Mac Plus and put it in the 
ROM socket of the Outbound.

I would be interesting if a market of 2nd hand/old PPC macs eventuated 
simply for the use of the ROM's
just for this use..
