[UniMacTech] iMac G5 wont't boot from install discs?

Hi all,

Just out of curiosity I¹m wondering if anyone knows of a database that lists
which discs are appropriate for which hardware?

Our department over the years has collected quite a few install discs and
hardware tests, but they aren¹t always labelled.

The only real information they have on them is the year (sometimes) and the
model (eg iMacG5) - but I¹ve found that this disk won¹t work for every 2005
iMac I¹ve encountered.

There is a disc number eg: 2Z691-5310-A and I thought maybe this corresponds
to a particular hardware somehow?

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

cheers

Danielle
