[UniMacTech] QMaster Ports

Hi folks,

I'm in the process of setting up video rendering using Apple QMaster,
but I was curious as to what ports (and how many) it really needs?

From the one of the Qmaster docs on Apple's site, it states (in regards
to port configuration):

4. In the From field, enter any integer value between 50,000 and 65,535
to set the start
of the range, such as 50,000.
5. In the “Number of ports” field, enter the size of the range, such as
1,000.

As I'll need to cross subnets (and get the appropriate ACL's in place),
do I really need 1000 ports for a Qmaster cluster with 20-25 nodes? Is
just a couple sufficient? It doesn't state if they use TCP or UDP
packets (I assume it's TCP), but I know I'll get funny looks from our
networks guys if I ask them open traffic across 1000 ports!

Cheers
Mark
