IT Support Officer
Temporary Contract

July – Aug 2009 Full Time
$30 - $35 per hour

St Vincent’s Institute (SVI), affiliated with the University of 
Melbourne, is an internationally recognized medical research centre 
providing leading edge research into a range of contemporary health 
issues affecting many Australians, including cancer, diabetes and heart 
disease.

As part of a team providing information services support to 
approximately 200 end users in a sophisticated OS X and Windows 
environment, this role will involve providing technical assistance to 
end users relating to the installation, configuration, and maintenance 
of desktop computers, laptops, software and related equipment, within 
the established guidelines of SVI and the University of Melbourne.

Key requirements of the role:
- Relevant degree or extensive experience in providing IT solutions
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in an IT support role
- Strong technical aptitude and efficiency in resolving a range of IT issues
- Experience with OS X (essential) and Windows operating systems, 
applications and hardware
- Experience in a professional, academic, health or scientific setting
- Excellence in client service
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a new team and proven ability to work 
independently
